Exercise Science (Prephysical Therapy)
This distinctive prephysical therapy major was created specifically to prepare you for a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Our interdisciplinary approach incorporates classes such as nutrition, biology, physics, athletic training and chemistry to ensure that you are prepared to confidently pursue admission into the physical therapy program of your choice.
Health Sciences
Whether you are interested in becoming a physician assistant, an occupational therapist, a strength and conditioning coach or other health professional, the health sciences major provides many elective hours to allow you to tailor your program to meet your professional goals. Your health professions advisor will help you select courses that ensure you graduate prepared for your desired career path.
Prepharmacy
Our prepharmacy curriculum is tailor-made for a successful transition into the doctor of pharmacy program. In addition to preparing you for professional schooling, our customized plan of study offers knowledge about the pharmacy profession, practice, opportunities and requirements. You will be personally advised by the pharmacy school director of admission and you have the option to receive a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies upon completion of your second year of pharmacy school.
Sports Medicine (Premedical, Predental, Pre-Optometry, Preveterinary)
In the sports medicine program, you will build a foundation for professional success, whether you go on the medical school, dental school, a doctor of optometry program, or another professional track. You’ll study subjects not always offered in graduate school, such as nutrition and exercise science, both of which are essential to a true understanding of human health. You will also gain hands on experience in a number of health care environments and have the opportunity to participate in medical mission trips. Our prevention-oriented curriculum provides invaluable training that complements the basic science courses required for the medical, dental, optometry or veterinary school of your choice.
