Application Process
Step One: Submit an Interest Form as soon as they are interested in the fast-track program.
Step Two: Complete a Fast-track Application Form in their junior year.
Admission Requirements
Students must first be admitted to Samford University. Students apply to the fast-track program in their junior year. Students who are accepted into the program begin graduate coursework in the fourth year of study and complete both degrees in five (5) years. Students may count up to nine (9) graduate hours toward their baccalaureate degree. Students applying to the fast-track program must meet the following requirements:
- Enrolled in the BS in Mathematics with a Concentration in Data Science
- Be in good academic standing with a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Complete MATH 301 Statistical Inference with a grade of B or higher
- Complete all convocation credit by the end of their junior year
Fast-track students follow the graduate Progression Policies set forth in the Department of Healthcare Administration and Informatics Graduate Student Handbook.
Students must earn a grade of B or better in each required program course. If a student fails to earn a grade of B or better, the student must repeat the course and earn a grade of B or better to remain in the program. Students who fail twice to earn a grade of B or better in any required course will be terminated from the program. A grade of B- or lower constitutes a failure in a graduate course.
Students who fail to meet the progression requirements for the Fast-Track Master of Science in Health Informatics and Analytics program will be converted to the BS in Mathematics with a Concentration in Data Science program.
Students who fall below the minimum 3.0 GPA requirement will be placed on probation for one academic semester to remediate coursework and return to good academic standing.
