Great job Birmingham! Yet again we proved why Birmingham should be a first choice destination for sporting events. On a toasty September Sunday afternoon we set the all-time attendance record for the Southeast for a standalone U.S. Women's National team game with 35,753 (Yahoo Sports). It marks the first time that Birmingham has hosted the U.S. Women's National Team since 2008.

How big could the attendance numbers have been if the U.S. had been playing a quality opponent like they will in their next World Cup Victory Tour match when then square off with Brazil in Orlando in late October? The U.S. won the game 8-0 which improved their all-time record against Haiti to 6-0-0 with 42 goals scored and none conceded. The U.S. outshot Haiti 39-0 during the match at historic Legion Field in downtown Birmingham, AL.
