3.5 million -- that's the number of people that tuned in to watch MLS cup last weekend. According to Cynopsis Media, "The 2016 MLS Cup officially made history, notching a new record for television viewership, postseason attendance, digital audience and social media engagement as the league wrapped up its 21st season on Saturday. Overall, more than 3.5 million viewers in the United States and Canada tuned in. On FOX, the network broadcast scored 1,411,000 viewers, according to Nielsen, to rank as the most-watched MLS Cup since 2001 stateside. The game posted a viewership increase of 111% over last year’s game (668,000), which was televised by ESPN, while 601,000 viewed the game on UniMas. In Canada, an audience of 1,430,000 watched on TSN, while 92,000 viewed in French on RDS."
