Kendra Lyas, a Birmingham, Alabama native, brings a rich blend of cultural experience, entrepreneurial vision, and service‑driven leadership to her work. Before joining the Samford family, she spent twelve years as a pharmaceutical sales representative, building strong relationships and developing a sharp understanding of the healthcare industry.

Her studies in Spanish Culture and Civilization at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain broadened her worldview and enriched her passion for cross‑cultural engagement. She also brings experience from her time as an intern at the Yale School of Medicine, further strengthening her foundation in clinical and research environments.

In 2024, Kendra founded Swaddle Bar, a baby and maternity brand rooted in quality, compassion, and purpose. Under her leadership, the brand has secured placement in over 50 stores nationwide. More than a business, Swaddle Bar functions as a ministry—impacting families around the world and extending philanthropic support to the children of Mwana Villages, an orphanage in the Republic of Congo. In her spare time, Kendra enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and labradoodle, Buddy.
