Elayne Whetstone is the chemical stockroom manager for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. She joined Samford in 2016 after 25 years at the Alabama Department of Public Health where she served as a senior microbiologist. Whetstone earned her Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Technology and Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Alabama State University.

In her spare time, Whetstone enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She is very active in her church and local community activities. Her hobbies also include traveling and genealogy.
