April 2, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Harry's Coffeehouse

Samford University’s Department of English will host a poetry reading with Alex Mouw on Thursday, April 2, at 3 p.m. in Harry’s Coffeehouse.

Mouw will read selections from his newly released collection, The Unbelieving Yelp of Prey, followed by a guided conversation exploring the relationship between poetry and faith. The event invites students to consider how contemporary poetry can engage questions of belief, doubt and spiritual reflection.

Designed especially for first-year and Core Curriculum students, the gathering offers an accessible introduction to literary study and creative writing. It may be particularly meaningful for students who are interested in English courses or considering a major or minor in the discipline.

The event offers convocation credit and is open to the campus community.
