October 16, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Brooks Hall Auditorium

Join Samford University’s Department of World Languages and Cultures for a screening of Ukraine: Life in Spite of It All (Ukraine : La vie malgré tout), a documentary film by French filmmaker and photojournalist Christophe Beyssier.

Filmed in Ukraine, the documentary offers an intimate look at everyday life in a country at war. Away from the front lines, Ukrainians continue to work, raise families, attend school, support their communities and navigate the constant realities of air-raid alerts, power outages, loss and uncertainty. Through these experiences, the film explores resilience, civilian resistance, grief, healing and the determination to continue living despite war.

The 68-minute film will be presented in French and Ukrainian with English subtitles. A discussion will follow the screening, and convocation credit is available.
