From the Dean
Timothy D. Hall came to Samford University’s Howard College of Arts and Sciences in 2016 after serving as associate dean of the College of Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences at Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant.
In addition to leading Samford’s largest undergraduate academic unit, Hall serves as professor of history. He earned his doctorate in American history from Northwestern University, and has master’s degrees in British history from the University of Chicago and in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Hall's scholarship is in the field of early American religious history and the Atlantic world. Longmans Press recently released the second edition of his Colonial America in an Atlantic World, which he co-authored with T.H. Breen.
