Chip Colee is a graduate of Samford University (1990), The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. (1993), and earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Tennessee Temple University (2013).
Chip currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer of the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes, overseeing all administrative areas of the ministry across the state from his office in Birmingham.
Chip is a lifelong Alabama Baptist who grew up in Tuscaloosa and Prattville, Alabama. He served as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church Decatur, Alabama for 10 years and First Baptist Church Montgomery, Alabama for 12 years. In addition to conference leadership, as well as other boards and leadership roles, he has served as a key leader and board member with Children’s Hope, a ministry operating an orphanage, schools, as well as a medical, and ministry center in Jacmel, Haiti.
His wife, Christy Choyce Colee, earned degrees from Samford University and The University of Alabama at Birmingham. After more than 20 years teaching high school, she is currently employed by Renaissance Learning, an educational software company.
