Interested in pursuing careers in the built environment such as architecture or interior design?

Samford is now offering both a degree in interior design and new 5-year degree track in architecture, offering a 4-year BS in Architecture followed by a 1-year accelerated Master of Architecture.*

Samford has offered a CIDA accredited interior design program since 2000 that has graduated students with a unique professional perspective.  Housed in Samford’s School of the Arts, students in both programs will study art as the foundation of the design process.  Through Samford University’s collective curriculum offerings and Christian mission, students gain an appreciation not only for all aspects of design but also view the world through a faith-based lens.

Enhanced by Birmingham’s vibrant design community, our programs allow students to work and be mentored by design professionals. Field trips, travel, internships and professional juries are integral elements of the course of study.  Our full-time faculty has a combined experience of over 65 years in professional practice and continue to be active in the local and national design community.

*NAAB Candidacy: In the United States, most state registration boards require a degree from an accredited professional degree program as a prerequisite for licensure. The National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), which is the sole agency authorized to accredit U.S. professional degree programs in architecture, recognizes three types of degrees: the Bachelor of Architecture, the Master of Architecture, and the Doctor of Architecture. The Samford University Architecture Program has applied for eligibility of accreditation with the NAAB.
