Ginger Self joined the School of Arts as the Administrative Assistant for the Architecture and Interior Design Department in 2025. Prior to moving to the School of Arts, Ginger served as the Administrative Assistant in the World Languages Department from 2022 to 2025. She comes to Samford and back home to Alabama after being gone for nearly 23 years. She lived in Fort Worth, Texas for 18 years which became her second home. During that time, she worked in public education in Special Education ranging in all ages from kindergarten to adults. Her first love was being with the college aged students which lead her to Samford.

Ginger is a graduate of the University of Montevallo and has two grown sons who both attended the United States Naval Academy and played football for the Midshipmen. In her free time, she enjoys watching college football, attending plays and traveling to see her sons.
