The Takács Quartet is renowned for the vitality of its interpretations. With a recent new member, it continues a long tradition of uncompromising attention to detail. Samford Arts welcomes this talented group from the University of Colorado. Their visit will include a master class on Tuesday, October 23rd from 10 - noon in Brock Recital Hall. Student performers will be Annesley Streets, Anna Taylor, Chloe Smith, Julia Sedlack and Donny Snyder. The master class is free admission. The concert will include quartets of Haydn, Bartok, and Brahms. The Takács Quartet is not only a Grammy-winning group but is also the first quartet to be awarded the Wigmore Hall Medal. This will be one of the great concerts in Birmingham this year. This performance is copresented with the Birmingham Chamber Music Society.
