Samford University's School of the Arts is pleased to announce the second annual Samford University Conducting Symposium that will take place in April 2023! This symposium is an opportunity for music educators and conductors to hone their conducting skills with a live collegiate ensemble and world-renowned clinicians. The symposium will include conducting sessions featuring the Samford University Wind Ensemble where participating conductors will receive individualized coaching sessions. The symposium will also offer engaging and informational sessions presented by the guest clinicians.
Conductors will be selected through an application process. At this time only ten (10) conductors will be accepted. We will, however, extend this symposium to an unlimited number of auditors. Auditors will be able to observe and attend all conducting and informational sessions without receiving individual conducting coaching.
