Samford alumnus Sean Flynt ('91, '94) joined the university's communication staff as a writer and editor in 2000. Since then he has published hundreds of articles on a variety of subjects for most of Samford's academic divisions. His personal research and writing interests include European arms and armor and the Creek Nation of the removal era.
Flynt earned national accreditation in public relations in 2009. In 2015 he joined Howard College of Arts and Sciences as full-time Executive Director of External Relations.
Also in 2015, Flynt was honored with the Orlean Bullard Beeson School of Education's Learning for Life Award in recognition of his more than 20 years of service to education, which includes work with Samford, The Missouri Partnership for Outstanding Schools, The University Council for Educational Administration, The National Policy Board for Educational Administration, and as an English language teaching assistant in the BRG Rechte Kremszeile and HLM HLW schools in Krems, Austria .
Flynt lives in Morris, Alabama, with wife Shannon Rogers Flynt and son Ambrose.
