Senior Journalism and Mass Communications major Lauren Womack received a fellowship at The Washington Post this past summer.
Assistant managing editor, Peter Perl bragged that she was the most successful of the fellows they have had. "She is an outgoing, self-starting kind of person," Perl said.
He encouraged Dr. Bernie Ankney, chair of the Journalism and Mass Communications department, to send more students to work with them in the future. "My recommendation," says Perl, "Would be to send us people with some spark, such as Lauren clearly has."
