Worship Leadership Minor
The minor in worship leadership is for students who seek to serve the church by becoming better worship leaders, pastoral musicians, and worshipers. By nature, Christian worship is an interdisciplinary activity that incorporates multiple disciplines. The minor in worship leadership engages theology, history, sociology, and the arts to prepare students for bi-vocational ministry in the local church and in para-church organizations. No audition is necessary to pursue and earn the minor in worship leadership. It is an interdisciplinary minor, offered in cooperation with the Department of Religion.
Meet a Student
I am a Journalism and Mass Communications student, but I initially was drawn to Samford because of the Worship Leadership Minor. I have a heart and passion for leading congregational worship, but didn't feel led to seek a full-time vocation as a worship leader. The Worship Leadership Minor has allowed me to pursue learning how to lead well, and I see these skills being useful as I continue in a part-time worship leadership ministry.Kara Young, '16 - Journalism and Mass Communication Major
