The National Weather Service has predicted the potential for strong to severe storms in Central Alabama early tomorrow morning, Monday, March 31, 2025.

While the timing is rarely exact with these predictions, the most recent NWS briefing suggests the hours of 4 am – 9 am. However, storms could arrive before or after this time frame.  Strong and sustained winds are very likely to accompany any storms that may move through so remain weather aware.

Important things to do ahead of time can include:

  1. Keep your cell phone charged.
  2. Having a reliable weather app installed on your phone.
  3. Unmute all weather-related notifications on your phone.
  4. Know where your safe sheltering areas are located, whether on or off campus.
  5. Have a flashlight handy in case of power outages.

Important updates and alerts will be conveyed through the normal Samford emergency protocols including Samford Alert, the Samford.edu homepage, and RAVE communications if conditions worsen.

Stay safe and weather aware.
