When one of our international students arrived in Birmingham, he spent his first evening in a local hotel.  Unaware of the distance from the hotel to the campus, he set out on foot, carrying his belongings, making slow progress along Lakeshore Drive.  (On this November morning, do you remember the heat of August?)  A Samford alumnus, Matt Leach (Biochem 2005, Pharmacy 2008), pulled over to offer our young friend a ride.  Matt and his wife, Amanda, learned the student's story, so they made a special trip to a local store, purchasing for him what he would need to get him settled in his room.

The world is better because of Matt and Amanda Leach.
