One day last September, Valerie Prince of the McWhorter School of Pharmacy sent an e-mail message to Samford friends, asking for prayer for a little boy who had been scalded from the neck down.  Parental abuse was in question.  Candy Hughes, in our student health office, received the message and passed it along to other friends and members of her church, seeking additional prayer support.  One of the couples in her church began to visit the little boy in the hospital . . . and then they initiated paperwork . . . and then they took foster parenting classes . . . and soon this precious boy will be released from the hospital to go home with his new family.

The world is better because of Valerie Prince, Candy Hughes, and faith that moves us from prayer to action.
