In classrooms across the campus today, students will be engaged in the ancient ritual of sitting for final exams.  The tension is palpable as they prepare to demonstrate the “vigorous learning” referenced in our vision statement.  The great work of any university is in the transmission and encouragement of learning.  It is our prayer this day—and every day—that our work is worthy of the high calling of educators.
