Several years ago, her daughter was enrolled here as an undergraduate. On a summer day, the family lost a daughter, the younger sister of the Samford student. The mother stood yesterday in the foyer of the church, years after the tragic event, relating to me the specific ways in which members of the Samford faculty and staff consoled their daughter and their entire family. “I will never forget their kindness,” she said.

The world is better because Samford people seek to mend broken spirits.
