Prior to coming to Samford, Olivia volunteered as an intern at the Red Barn stables, working with disabled children in both physical and educational therapy. She competed in the Alabama Music Teachers Association Festival and was a two-time winner of the Birmingham Music Teacher Association Sonata Competition. While in high school, she was also a Belhaven High Scholar and graduated with distinction. While attending Samford, Olivia studied as an English and Classics double major. In her classes, she focused on Latin and medieval history. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Master degree in Library and Informational Science at the University of Alabama and then use her degrees to create welcoming spaces for children and young adults in her community.
