Dual Enrollment or AP Credits+

Do you qualify to receive Dual Enrollment credit?

College courses taken in a high school setting without external testing (e.g. AP, CLEP, IB) or fulfilling a high school requirement will be treated as dual enrollment credit. Students may transfer up to 12 semester credits of dual enrollment credit in which the student has earned a grade of B- or higher. Transferred coursework must be comparable to Samford courses offered at the 100 and 200 level. Only one Core Curriculum course (UCCA 101) may be transferred as dual enrollment credit.

Did you need your Dual Enrollment course to meet a high school graduation requirement?

YES: Up to 12 credits will be reviewed for transfer credit.

NO: The course(s) will be reviewed for possible transfer credit up to a total of 30 hours.

Dual Enrollment Evaluation Steps

  1. Request that an official transcript from the college/university where you took course(s) be sent directly to the Samford Office of Admission. Send updated transcripts reflecting final grades for any coursework completed prior to enrolling at Samford (i.e. spring and summer coursework).
  2. If the dual enrolled courses are not clearly notated on your high school transcript, you are required to send the Dual Enrollment form to your high school guidance counselor. On the form, he/she will need to note which courses were also needed to fulfill high school graduation requirements. Ask him/her to send the completed form to admissionoperations@samford.edu. Only e-mails sent from an official school account will be accepted!
