We are so excited to welcome community members back to campus for Minority Youth Science Academy 2022. This year, the camp will be a day camp that takes place from June 13-15. During this time, rising 10th – 12th grade students will learn about STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) majors and careers that may interest them. Each day, students will be exposed to different STEM areas including extracting DNA, understanding reversible chemical reactions, graphic design and even building and launching rockets. MYSA participants will also have the opportunity to hear from a panel of minority STEM professionals about the paths they chose to master their field, in addition to receiving tips from current and former Samford students of color with majors in the STEM fields.
The cost of the day camp is $250 and includes breakfast, lunch and snacks each day in addition to all materials required to participate in the STEM sessions. There are limited scholarships available. For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
