In the cloud

Office 365 for Education is a collection of services that allows you to collaborate and share your schoolwork. It’s available at no cost to Samford faculty, staff and students. The service includes Office Online (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote), 50 GB mailbox (employees only), 1 TB of cloud storage with “OneDrive for Business”, Yammer, Teams, SharePoint sites and more.

On local computers and mobile devices

Samford’s agreement with Microsoft also allows employees and students to install the full Office applications on up to 5 home PCs or Macs and 5 Mobile devices for free.  Once you login to the Office 365 portal on your device, you will see an “Install Office” button on your office 365 home page.

What’s different for students?

Samford students have access to all the Office 365 services above except Email (Exchange Services) as student email is provided via Google Apps for Education.  Students can, however, configure Outlook to work with your Bulldog Mail.

For students who have never registered for Office 365, you must first sign up by going to the Microsoft self-service portal and confirm your Samford email address.

After you have signed up, you can sign in to your Office 365 account at portal.office.com where you can access Office online or install Microsoft Office on your personal devices.
