Brayan Chaves serves as the Director of Costa Rica Programs and Operations, where he oversees the study abroad programs in Costa Rica, including academic support, logistics, and residential life for students at Samford University’s Finca de Samford.

Prior to this role, Brayan gained experience in conservation and community engagement through his work with A Rocha Costa Rica, where he coordinated environmental projects focused on stewardship and sustainability. In addition, he has more than ten years of experience in student ministry with IFES, supporting student development and leadership in faith-based settings.

Brayan holds a bachelor’s degree in Ecotourism and Natural Resources Management and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in theology. He is passionate about holistic student development and is committed to creating meaningful, growth-centered experiences for students studying abroad.
