
Eri Taguchi is a Japan Outreach Initiative (JOI) Coordinator, bringing Japanese culture to American communities through engaging programs. From lectures and traditional art events to hands-on activities, Eri fosters cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. Her upbringing was heavily influenced by her family, who truly love traditional Japanese entertainment and history. Eri is excited about working as a JOI coordinator where she can share her knowledge and deep love of Japanese culture with people and Samford and around Alabama.
With a background in International Relations, Eri has various experiences in cultural exchange from her volunteering experience for the Kumamoto Sister City Exchange Program with Rome GA, USA, in Boy Scouts groups in the UK, and serving in the U.S. Consulate in Fukuoka. Her career also includes leadership roles in the private sector, where she developed skills in management, staff development.
