Major: History, Spanish, and Global Studies
Hometown: Calhoun, GeorgiaDavid was the valedictorian of his high school graduating class and served in various high school leadership roles. Since coming to Samford, David has been named to the Dean’s List for five semesters in a row. A member of Phi Kappa Phi, he presented research at the 2017 Phi Alpha Theta Alabama Regional Meeting and had research accepted to be published in the Samford Undergraduate Research Journal. David has served as the co-leader of Students for Life of Samford University and as the Vice President of the Spanish Club. Additionally, he has interned with the Office of Congressman Tom Graves, La Paz Chattanooga, and the Samford Traditions and Oral History Recording Initiative. During the fall of 2016, David studied at Universidad Blas Pascal in Córdoba, Argentina. He received an Alabama Power Research Fellowship to study Argentine history in the summer of 2017. One of David’s goals is to become bilingual in Spanish, and he is currently exploring career options in the humanities and social sciences that will utilize that skill.
