Hometown: Charlotte, North CarolinaLauren is Managing Editor of Wide Angle: A Journal of Literature and Film, where she has published four critical essays. Her editorial experience is augmented by her work and training as a tutor in Samford's Communication Resource Center. Along with interning with One Place Family Justice Center, Lauren volunteers as a Rape Response advocate at Birmingham's Crisis Center. She is also Vice President and New Member Educator for Samford's only multicultural sorority, Delta Xi Phi, increasing multicultural awareness and celebrating the advancement of women in higher education. Lauren is currently analyzing data on the role of institutions in shaping the lives of LGBTQ individuals with sociology professor Dr. Theresa Davidson. Last summer, she completed an internship with the Feminist Majority Foundation in D.C., where she was Title IX advocate. After graduation, Lauren hopes to pursue an editorial career at a literary journal.
