Ryan has been active in the Samford community for three years. He has provided introductions for two BACHE visiting writers: Ann Pancake and W. Ralph Eubanks. Ryan is a member of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honors Society and presented a paper at its 2017 convention. His editing experience includes being an Editor of the Humanities for the Samford Undergraduate Research Journal, a former editorial assistant for Dr. Bass, and a student assistant for a CA 102 class. Ryan has also been involved in the University Fellows’ Great Ideas Summer Institute for high school students and is a former member of the University Fellows Leadership Council. A multi-published poet in the English Department's Wide Angle publication, he aspires to continue his creative efforts while going to graduate school to study African American Literature.
