Hometown: Huntsville, AlabamaJasmine has combined interests in science and the arts. She was accepted into the McWhorter School of Pharmacy and begins classes this fall. She has spent the past year working on several research projects with the chemistry department, plans to research again this summer, and hopes to continue researching even in pharmacy school. Jasmine presented her research at Samford's Symposium in the fall of 2016. She feels very much at home in the lab, having also been a chemistry laboratory assistant for two years in high school. She loves to write, and in high school won the HLA Young Writers Contest and was published in their anthology. During her freshman year, Jasmine helped found a campus creative writing club and wrote two books. In addition to becoming a Doctor of Pharmacy, she also hopes to become a published author and poet, and to illustrate her own books. Jasmine is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honors society, and will be inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society this spring. She has been on the Dean's List for fall 2015, spring 2016, and fall 2016. In high school, she was an AP scholar, a National Achievement finalist, and graduated in the top ten of her class. She wants to use her passion for both medicine and storytelling to change people's lives.
