The dashboard includes self-reported positive results as well as results of testing conducted by Samford University and its testing partners. Data is provided by the Office of Operations and Campus Initiatives and will be updated weekdays with the previous day’s data.
Sentinel and focused testing by the university is ongoing. Employees, students and other personnel must timely participate in these tests whenever requested. It is essential that (1) positive results from COVID-19 tests that are not facilitated by the university and (2) all suspected cases of COVID-19 be immediately reported by students, employees and other campus personnel to Covid19health@samford.edu within two hours of receiving positive test results or other reportable information. The university will otherwise be unable to include that data in its reporting and take appropriate actions for the welfare of affected individuals and the campus in general. It is of great importance that all students, employees and other campus personnel make full and timely reports of this information.
Student Entry Testing, Fall 2020
Samford students were required to be tested for COVID-19 within 14 days of entering campus. Free tests were provided by GuideSafe and supported by CARES Act funding through the State of Alabama. Students were also allowed to submit results of PCR or antigen tests administered by their healthcare provider. Individuals studying online for the fall semester and those who had tested positive for COVID-19 within 12 weeks of entering campus were excluded from the testing requirement.
Employee Entry Testing
All employees were tested for COVID-19 prior to returning to campus.
This site will continue to evolve to meet the needs of our campus community.
