Dear Samford Community,

Samford is committed to keeping you informed of positive COVID-19 cases on our campus. In preparation for the fall semester we launched the COVID-19 Dashboard. This webpage is updated every weekday and currently provides the cumulative number of student and employee cases on our campus since the beginning of the pandemic.

Although the site has been active since early August, yesterday at 12:45 p.m. the dashboard data was temporarily removed in order to correct previously reported data and to verify our processes for reporting positive cases on our campus. Following a thorough review of all cases, we discovered three cases that had been inaccurately reported. Those three individuals had not been on our campus and were therefore removed from the total count posted yesterday morning. Additionally, we were able to update the case report section to reflect the actual day of diagnosis for some of the positive results that were shared with the university over the weekend. This allowed us to provide greater clarity in the case report section of the site.  

The dashboard was relaunched at noon today and will continue to be updated every weekday with the previous day’s numbers.  

I appreciate your continued partnership in our efforts to accurately report positive cases on campus. Please remember, all employees and students must immediately report a positive COVID-19 test diagnosis to Covid19health@samford.edu within two hours of obtaining this information.
