We are grateful for the continued success of the Fall semester—only 53 days to go until the Thanksgiving break. Thank you for your continued efforts to maintain a healthy campus community.
As we’ve navigated the pandemic on campus this semester, we’ve been thoughtfully planning for the Spring with the goal of providing continued residential life and as much in-person instruction as possible. To support these priorities, we have modified our Spring 2021 academic calendar as follows:
- Like many major universities across the country, Samford will not take a traditional Spring Break this year. Instead, the semester will end one week earlier. We hope that keeping students, faculty and staff on campus may help us to successfully complete the Spring semester on campus.
- The last day of classes for undergraduate students will be April 29, with final exams May 3-6. Graduate students should consult their appropriate program calendars for their specific dates.
- We tentatively plan to host in-person commencement ceremonies for undergraduate programs May 7-8 with ceremonies for Beeson Divinity School April 30, Cumberland School of Law May 7, and graduate students in the College of Health Sciences April 23. While this schedule is subject to change, it is our intent to spread the ceremonies out in order to allow us to safely accommodate families and guests at these important events.
- Following our longstanding tradition, we will celebrate Easter with a university holiday on Monday, April 5.
You can view the detailed academic calendars for all programs. We hope that sharing this information now will allow you to begin preparing for the Spring. Please be on the lookout for additional information and details in the weeks ahead.
We appreciate your continued partnership as we seek to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on our campus. Remember—Mask.Wash.Distance.Report! Take care…. Buck
