To Samford Students and Employees… Please pardon this intrusion on your holiday break. I do hope this note finds you enjoying the gifts and spirit of the Christmas season with full hearts.
This is a short reminder that each employee and student must submit a negative PCR test result prior to your first return to campus in January for the Spring 2021 semester or JanTerm. All tests need to be taken no more than seven days prior to your return. For those who took advantage of the free PCR kit provided by Samford, you should complete the test and mail your kits to the lab within five to seven days of your return.
Regardless of whether you are using a test supplied by Samford or submitting a result from a PCR test administered by your healthcare provider, you must upload a copy of your test result to be cleared for entry to campus. For those taking a Samford-provided PCR test, please submit a screenshot of the test result sent to you electronically by Everlywell.
The upload link for submitting all PCR test results can be found here (samford.edu/go/UploadResults). This is very important as it contradicts previously provided instructions; we recently learned that our testing partner, Everlywell, will not provide test results directly to the University. Only those who test negative and upload their test results will be permitted to return to campus.
If you use the Everlywell test kit provided by Samford, please remember that your test sample must be returned to a UPS dropbox on the same day as sample collection. If you are returning to campus on January 4, to avoid potential weekend and holiday delays you should arrange to take your test and drop it off on Monday, December 28. A prepaid shipping label is included in your test kit. Your results should be available online 24-48 hours after the test sample arrives at the lab.
