• Formerly special assistant to President George W. Bush for Presidential Personnel, managing the White House appointment process
• Serves on The Smithsonian American Art Museum’s National Council and other boards
• Holds the Master of Letters and Ph.D. in international relations from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland
• Author of the book, Madison Park: A Place of Hope
• Samford’s first African-American elected Student Government Association president
