The Samford University band program will celebrate its 80th anniversary with a barbecue picnic Saturday, Nov. 8, prior to the Samford football game against Jacksonville State. All former band members are invited to the free event, which begins at 11 a.m. in the north end zone of Seibert Stadium. Football game kickoff is at 1 p.m.

Guests will be able to become charter members of Samford Band Support. The new group seeks to provide funding for band scholarships, instruments and programs.

For picnic reservations and complementary game tickets, contact the University Relations office at (205) 726-2807 or toll free 877-782-5867.
