Samford University's Bells of Buchanan will present a concert Tuesday, April 28, with a program of pieces written specifically for handbells as well as transcriptions of familiar hymn tunes.

The public is invited to the 7:30 p.m. concert in Brock Recital Hall. Admission is free.

The program will include Kevin McChesney's Capriccio, a meditation on Beautiful Savior, the Chinese folk melody Le P'ing, a praise medley based on Aurelia and to God Be the Glory, William A. Payn's Prisms, the African American spiritual Standin' in the Need of Prayer, John A. Behnke's The Promise, J.S. Bach's Little Fugue, and an entertaining movie-themed medley.

Samford music professor Dr. Bill Strickland directs the 14-member ensemble. The ringers represent a variety of academic disciplines.
