This fall, Samford University Alumni Association will host several events for chapters to connect remotely, including a book club, professional development and worship.

The schedule includes three newly developed event series—Everyday Essentials with Samford, Samford Alumni Virtual Book Club and Samford Alumni Webinar Series.

During Everyday Essentials with Samford, attendees can learn in virtual “classes” meant to provide alumni from all walks of life a simple way to gain valuable life skills. These short, 30-minute classes may be creative or practical in nature and will cover various topics designed to appeal to many life phases and interests.

Launched this summer, the virtual book club will continue this fall. Each quarter, a book written by one our alumni will be selected and announced via email. Those interested in participating can register via email to be invited to a video conference call with the author and a closed Facebook group to further discuss with other alumni across the country. Katherine ‘04 and Jay Wolf ‘04 have been selected as the authors for the fall 2020 edition of the Samford Alumni Virtual Book Club.

Also continuing from the summer,  the alumni webinar series provides meaningful opportunities for alumni to continue learning from top professionals.  Covering a wide variety of topics and experiences, these webinars will leave participants feeling inspired, encouraged, educated and challenged.

"We have been thrilled with the participation in our virtual events since launching in the spring," director of alumni programs Casey Ramey said. "We have worked to develop extensive fall programming we know can continue to build and engage the Samford community in their cities in a virtual manner."
