Samford University’s board of trustees has approved the 2026-27 academic year tuition and fee schedule.

“The administration’s recommendation balances continued investments in academic quality for our students, support for Samford’s personnel and facilities, and a commitment to scholarships and other institutional investments to increase affordability and accessibility,” said Colin Coyne, Samford’s vice president for finance and business affairs.

Cost of attendance for residential undergraduates will increase 5.2%, made up by a 4.5% increase in full-time tuition and mandatory fees, a 5%-7% increase in on-campus housing costs depending on residence hall, and an 8.9% increase in the 19-meal dining plan.

New graduate program tuition and fees differ by program. Tuition increases for the 2026-27 academic year range from 0%-3% depending on the program, and mandatory graduate fees will increase by 4%.

Samford continues to be ranked among the best value in the nation, as recognized by U.S. News & World Report, and the university’s programs continue to garner national attention. This year, The Wall Street Journal ranked Samford 3rd in the nation for career preparation, 5th for most highly recommended colleges and universities, and 7th in the nation for the quality of learning opportunities for students.

“The demand for a Samford education continues to rise, and the university’s 17-year trend of record enrollment speaks to Samford’s appeal among those students and families seeking quality Christ-centered higher education,” said Jason Black, Samford’s vice president for enrollment management.
