In addition to the financial sacrifices many of them make to enable a Samford education for their sons and daughters, they write to us, encourage us and pray for us.
One of those parents is Dr. Scott Sager, father of Anna Sager, a graduating senior. Scott is the Vice President for Church Services at Lipscomb University, so he is heavily invested in the lives of students and employees there—but he has found time over the past four years to lend steadfast encouragement to many of us at Samford. I owe him a great debt for his ministry to me, beginning even before Anna enrolled at Samford. His recent book, Jesus in Isolation: Lazarus, Viruses, and Us, is a vivid and thoughtful reminder of the hope we have in Christ.
The world is better because of Scott Sager and the thousands of parents to lend their support to Samford.
