Our trustees met a few days ago for a routine meeting, receiving reports and monitoring the work of the university.  Buddy Champion, chair of the Academic Affairs Committee, presented his report, concluding with the presentation of 261 names, 261 lives, 261 souls for participation in commencement activities on December 17.  He registered the motion, a unanimous vote was offered, and then the trustees paused, reflecting on the gravity of the moment, as Buddy prayed for these men and women who have earned their degrees in this place.
