Jose Ocampo

Before coming to Samford, Jose graduated from Pinson Valley High School in Pinson, Alabama. He was a part of the National English Honor Society and Spanish club, and he was the lead guitarist and bassist for his high school’s jazz band. Aside from school, he helps lead worship with the Hispanic ministry at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, AL, and hopes to pursue worship leadership as his primary form of service in the church. Using his experience in worship, he currently works as a music instructor at Dawson Music Academy! Through Micah Fellows, he hopes to provide  service to others in any way possible with the skills he acquired from his family’s landscaping side-hustle. As a first-generation college student at Samford, Jose is majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Spanish. He hopes to become a physical therapist assistant and be able to use the knowledge and skills that he learns to provide aid to others.
