Dawson Memorial Baptist Church was the scene on Saturday, October 20, 2012 for a free one-day conference on Science, Religion, and the Church. Noted author and keynote speaker Karl Giberson kicked things off with his presentation, "Is Science at War with Christianity?" Senior Center Fellows Tom Woolley, Wilton Bunch, George Keller, and Steve Donaldson and Dawson Minister of Spiritual Formation Todd Harrington contributed talks on chance and purpose, evolution, brain and soul, unnecessary problems in science and religion, and interpretation. Participants represented twenty different churches from Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. The conference was funded by a Scientists in Congregations grant.
