Benon is currently a member of the International Students Association, President and Co-founder of the African Students Association, and a Samford Crew Novice rower. In the spring of 2016, he was nominated as a finalist for the Omicron Delta Kappa freshman leadership award. Upon graduation from high school, Benon was admitted to the prestigious gap year program (Bridge2Rwanda) that trains the highest ranking East African high school graduates, and prepares them to compete for scholarships to many of the most prestigious schools in the US and Europe. In the summer of 2016, Benon worked as Financial Operations Intern at one of the high ranking commercial banks in Africa, Access Bank, headquartered in Nigeria. During the same summer, he volunteered to train high school students in Rwanda with the Wheaton College Entrepreneurship Incubator. This summer (2017), Benon plans to intern at Rwanda's largest brewery company-"Bralirwa" (Rwanda Heineken Branch) under the supervision of the marketing manager. Upon graduation, he would like to work for a Private Equity firm.
