Since coming to Samford, Abi has enjoyed serving in various areas of campus as well as in the Birmingham community. As a freshman, Abi began serving with Oak Tree Ministries in Birmingham and continues to attend Sunday Bible Club as an upperclassman. Abi is currently serving a third term as one of three senior class representatives on the Fellows Leadership Council. She also leads tours of campus and volunteers on Samford Preview Day events as a third year member of the Samford Recruitment Team. In the spring of her junior year she began researching with Dr. Brian Gregory in Samford’s Department of Chemistry. In connection with the lab work she was fortunate to travel to northern Israel where she was trained in archaeological methodology under the instruction of Dr. James R. Strange. She will continue her work on the project into her senior year attempting to perform a digestion of ancient Roman ceramics excavated in northern Galilee. After graduation, Abi intends to pursue a career in medicine preferably specializing in Pediatrics or Pediatric Neurology.
