In high school, Mat was the president of the National and French Honors Societies and graduated as one of the top of his class. In addition, he was on two state championship cross country teams and was team captain of the cross country and track teams his senior year. At Samford, Mat studied Biochemistry before switching to Exercise Science. After graduation, Mat plans to attend Physical Therapy School and become a certified Physical Therapist.
