Our desire is to connect Samford students through small groups that lead to spiritual growth and biblical community. Two primary ways students are able to get involved are through Samford Small Groups and Cadres.

Samford Small Groups

Samford Small Groups exist on Samford’s campus as a way to connect and unite students through bible study, discussion and prayer. Students meet together each week for an hour in these community groups. Small groups are open to all students on campus. Cadres

Campus Cadres

Campus cadres are designed to promote engaging conversation that challenges you to grow spiritually and connect with a small circle of peers.

Cadres are small groups led by faculty or staff that meet approximately 8 times during a semester to discuss a book, biblical text, specified topic. Up to 8 convocation credits are given to those who complete the requirements.

Community Cadres

Community cadres seek to help students integrate faith and learning through action and service. These cadres engage students with community partners in the greater Birmingham community in meaningful ways. Students can receive up to 10 convocation credits for completing the requirements. Registration opens at the beginning of each semester.

Guest Ministry Organizations

Samford University strives to provide a nurturing environment for students to learn and live the Christian faith. In addition to the worship and ministry opportunities afforded by the Office of Spiritual Life, Samford welcomes approved churches and para-church organizations to engage students by sharing, teaching, and modeling the gospel of Jesus Christ. Within this context, a goal is to connect students with local congregations and ministry organizations for corporate worship, spiritual development, and personal relationships with other believers.
