Thank you for your interest in sharing your career advice, contacts, and information about internship and full-time opportunities with students and alumni. Below, you will find a link to a form which will feed into a database our Career Development Center staff can use, as appropriate, when assisting students and alumni with career exploration, job and internship search, and more.

Annual Donation Drive

Samford University's Office of Parent and Family Engagement seeks to further one of Samford's core values, which is to lead in service to God, to family, to one another, and to the community, by organizing opportunities for Samford families to get involved in the community in impactful and positive ways. One of these opportunities is the Samford Parents Association's annual donation drive. Each year, the Parents Association works together to provide donations, rotating amongst campus, domestic, and international focused projects.

This year, on the Friday of Family Weekend, Samford families partnered with Alabama Baptist Children's Home, through the office of Community Engagement. The Samford community served this organization by donating and packing backpacks to give to foster children in need! We are thankful for this opportunity to serve boldly in our community.

72 students and parents participated in this project on that Friday, making 87 first-day bags which kids will receive upon entering foster care. Prior to this day, hundreds of families and Samford employees made gifts, contributing towards the purchase of supplies.

The representative from Alabama Baptist Children's Home, along with several of their colleagues who are Samford alumni, expressed their gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to reconnect with Samford in a new way. Our parent planning committee also did an outstanding job coordinating logistics and ensuring everything ran smoothly on the day of the event.

Parent Mentors for EXCEL Leadership

The EXCEL Leadership Certificate Program aims to equip, excite, and cultivate emerging leaders to develop critical skills in leadership and service. Our first cohort of students are emerging leaders who represent a variety of academic disciplines and leadership interests. We are actively recruiting potential mentors for the first cohort to be paired with a student mentee to meet once a month on campus for a time of encouragement, support, and mentoring in vocational calling, personal development, and leadership.
